The 2011 Mountain to Mountain MTB Classic at Slanghoek Cellar was a rousing success and garnered high praise among participants, spectators, and organizers alike. The brand new, well-marked and user-friendly routes, excellent water hubs, and perfect weather conditions all culminated in a truly memorable experience for riders.

Dominic Calitz, winner in the Men’s 60km division, remarked: “With some great technical climbs and descents through the Slanghoek Valley I used my technical/skill riding experience to maintain the lead. At the 50km mark I was introduced to a severe rocky technical section – true mountain biking.”

Other positive comments from participants echoed the popular consensus that this race is an authentic and invigorating MTB experience:

“Organization was superb (race results up every 20 minutes so you can see exactly where you came). Well done! Ice cold coke at water stops and finish, Spur burgers on sale at finish..yum!!”

“I have to agree, one of the best MTB rides in the Western Cape! Fantastic route marking! Friendly people! One tough ride! I've seen enough rocks to last me a lifetime! But I will definitely be back next year!”

“Very nice race. Good weather, friendly people, awesome scenery.”
