No less than 9 Awards in national consumer-driven Vitis Vinifera Awards
Proving that it makes wine with the end-consumer in mind, Slanghoek Cellar has been awarded no less than 9 Awards in the annual Vitis Vinifera Awards, a wine competition where all panellists are wine lovers who are focused on commending more good wines than any other competition – and not only the exclusive, “top-echelon” wines.
Slanghoek Cellar, is situated along the picturesque Breedekloof Wine Route, and has a reputation for producing wines that provide wine enthusiasts with top class drinking, no matter the price range, variety or style it is made in. The Vitis Vinifera Awards add weight to this claim, with the various styles of wines bottled under the Slanghoek Cellar brand, well represented in the Double Gold and Gold categories.
Slanghoek Cellar was awarded a Double Gold for its Slanghoek Private Selection Crème de Chenin 2014, an elegant, natural sweet wine made from predominantly Chenin Blanc grapes, which is steadily gaining a ‘cult-like’ status among wine enthusiasts and experts alike.
Eight Gold Medals were awarded to various other wines in its portfolio.

Comments Pieter Carstens, Cellarmaster at Slanghoek Cellar: “We are very happy that our wines have received the nod of approval from a panel of wine enthusiasts who enjoy wine for its pure drinkability, and not only for its technical attributes. The fact that Slanghoek Cellar has received nine Awards in this competition, which has a strong end-consumer focus, means that the general public can buy our wines knowing that they will enjoy them!”
